RYO INOUE
Tokyo-based independent artist RYO INOUE, who draws deep inspiration from American and Japanese retro culture and manga, has always been passionate about creating unique characters. His journey into the world of art led him to embrace sculpting, allowing him to bring his imaginative creations to life.
The term "SLUDGE," referring to engine grime, ties back to RYO INOUE's childhood dream of becoming an automotive technician, creating an intriguing connection to his work's gritty, hands-on aesthetic.
"THE SLUDGE STORE" marks RYO INOUE's first solo exhibition, co-hosted with KOZMOS in Taipei. The exhibition theme, an imaginary GARAGE SALE, reflects RYO's love for retro American culture and his garage-style studio vibe. The exhibition will showcase a series of toys, paintings, prints, and various limited SLUDGE merchandise.

2024 "THE SLUDGE STORE"
2024 "THE SLUDGE STORE" exhibition has successfully wrapped up!
Thank you to everyone who visited, chatted with us, and shared your time.
This was our first solo exhibition, and we partnered with artist Ryo, who shares our cultural and aesthetic vision, to bring "THE SLUDGE STORE" to life.
We created products and atmosphere we love, hoping to show that culture is about more than just sofubi toys—it’s about the connections between people, the impact of the environment, and the creative worldview.
These elements are all connected, and you can only truly experience them by being there.
This has reinforced our belief that real culture grows from continuously doing cool things.
Thank you again for all your support!
We look forward to more experience in the future!
